IWPerl to handle Unicode charactors

Hi,

I am using TS6.1. Now i ran into a problem.
Teamsite user entered some special charactors thru DCT.

IWPERL stops execution when it handle this variable.
But no syntax error with my perl program.

How can I make IWPERL to handle unicode/special charactors, so that
the application does not break.

Any help greatly appreciated !!!!

(a) you could look through the forums because issues like this have been discussed before, (b) you could provide a lot more detail - including the code and the context in which it is run (is this a PT or some other piece of code that's processing the DCR?).

Neither is a guarantee at resolution.
Both are reasonable steps to follow though.

Lal,

While reading the unicode characters thru iwperl use CGI_Lite->escape_html_data() and while displaying use CGI_Lite->unescape_html_data().

For example it just renders your ® mark as ® and vice-versa.

Can you provide the code snippet along with the description of the error being displayed over screen?

Actually there is no error displayed. When perl sees a variable with
special charactor , it just stops executing and exit out.

Have you tried debugging after putting the unicode value within the logs, before and after encoding using CGI_Lite methods?

If possible, provide that particular code snippet where you have tried using those methods..

Here is the code snippet:here the $anncmt->value('Headline') has some special charactors/symbols which makes perl to stop executing..
I tried varios method... last one which i TRIED is here ..
