Explicitly displaying error

Hi,

Is there a way to explicitly show the error (Either required fields have not been filled out or fields contain invalid values. Please fix this before saving.) which comes below when a mandatory field is empty?
This error is shown when a mandatory field is empty. I need to show this error for other validations on that field too.

Ajay,

You can use the following methods to get your requirement fulfilled:

On any valid event of the field, pass on the item and call the method

item.setValid(false);
item.setFocus();
IWDatacapture.setHighlightMode(true); IWDatacapture.redrawLabels();
IWDatacapture.displayMessage("Error found or Invalid values");

IWDatacapture.redrawLabels();

FYI - as of 6.5, and perhaps 6.x, redraw() and redrawLabels() are no longer required - and are basically no-ops.

Thanks Adam, but it is no where mentioned about the environment. So given all the methods in line... as it would not harm anyway.
