teamsite benchmark on t2000 hardware?
jed
Is anyone running t2000 hardware on their production teamsite instance? We are in the early stages of a hardware swap evaluation for our production system and I am curious if anyone else has performed benchmarks of TeamSite on a t2000. (I'll even take anecdotal experience.) We are considering migrating from a 4810 (12 CPU/48 gigs ram) to a maxed out t2000 (8 core/32 thread/32 gigs ram) which should provide a significantly lower operating cost (heat/size/power/etc).
Load testing of 4/8/12 cpus boxes in the past has shown:
o The biggest performance hit is generally workflow processing (perl scripts, OD/DD deployments, template regeneration, etc)
o more CPU's provide the ability to handle more concurrent workflow processing
o As the number of concurrent workflows exceeded the total number of CPU's, processing time increases dramatically
Ideally, each thread on a t2000 would scale in a similar fashion as a raw CPU. But that might be a stretch...
