No, it isn't.I would go with the current ActiveState ActivePerl release.Some of the processors that ship with MT assume that it will be installed in C:\perl, but you could put it whereever as long as you update your configuration.
Good point. Every project where I've used MT has been on windows, so I overlooked that.If you were installing on Solaris, I would probably suggest the package of perl off the install discs. Or if you prefer, Activestate also distributes Solaris packages. Or, you could grab the source off CPAN and build it yourself (assuming you have a fully functioning build environment). Unless you have some known dependency on an old version, I would go with the latest stable version available (5.8.x)
