onItemChange functionality fails with visualformat textarea

If I use onItemChange functionality on a text area
with visualformat, it fails.
I need to use both visualformat and onItemChange event, pls hlp me to use this.

What is your TS Platform and Version? What is the failure manifestation?
In 6.5 I have no problem using "onItemChange" event on VF textarea in both "external-editor-inline" true and false modes

Hi, My TS version is 6.5 following is the format I have declared text area [HTML] < textarea rows="10" cols="80" external-editor="visualformat" /> [/HTML] Is this the correct way for using onItemChange event ?? From above line if I remove external-editor="visualformat" it works fine. Thanks for the Info

- You may have issues with your Item Handler. Do you try to modify/massage Item's value there? If so, note
that VF element is much more than "String value". Unless you also use external-editor-inline="f" attribute it's an
object and you'd have to use Ektron's API to modify it.

- If above is not the case, try to set (default) configuration explicitly.[html][/html]- If that does not help contact support
