iwodcmd - datadeploy

Hi!

We are using Teamsite 6.5.0. Presently we are using iwdd.ipl for datadeoply. sometimes this causes stale NFS file handle error.

Now we wanted to use iwodcmd command for datadeoply.

Can anyone please let me know how to use iwodcmd command with the existnig configuration (which is used for earlier teamsite version) and what are precautions I need to take. iwodcmd is this ipl file?

. Put your connection parameter in database.xml file and
use this in your database deployment configuration file.
. Create a deployment in your deployment configuration file.

and run the following command

iwodcmd DeploymentConfigFile -k iwdd=DeploymentName

$iwhome/datadeploy/bin/iwdd.ipl cfg= deployment= area=

db= filelist=;

Command which u provided where i could not find any DCR file list which will passed to datadeoply...

Pls let me know how i can pass all the above parameters to iwodcmd command or else is there any seperate config file. can u pls let me know...

Also let me know where iwodcmd resides...whether this is ipl or executable file

DaraDeploymentConfig file will contain all this information like which DCRs to want to deploy in database, table/relational structure etc. All you need to run the mentioned command.

You can find this command in [HTML]/bin[/HTML] directory.

Hi!,

In iw-home/bin i could not find this command in my directory structure. Is there anything I need to do anything to get this command under /bin folder? I mean is it automatically get installed when we install teamsite 6.5...

Please advise me in this regard..I totally stuck..

I just forget to wrap the opendeploy with HTML tag, it looks fine now.

See, this command is available in OpenDeploy not TeamSite, so you need to go opendeploy home directory then bin, you will find this command.

Usage: iwodcmd [-host ] [-port ]

Where,
-h Displays this usage description
-v Displays version

-odinst instName Use OpenDeploy instance instName.

-host Specify the host/network address that will execute the action.

-port Specify the port number to which a connection can be made.

Specify any of the following actions:
start, schedadd, schedget, scheddelete, schedactivate
serverstatus, serverreset, deploycancel
offeradd, offerget, offerdelete
subscriptionadd, subscriptionget, subscriptiondelete

When I run the command as "iwodcmd start /u03/iw-home/datadeploy/conf/SPS/cms/manualfiledata_filelist.cfg -k mfd_ea_to_db"
i am getting following error:

***ERROR - Starting deployment.
Caught exception. Details: REQUEST_DENIED

One more clarification I hv as I said earlier...
Our List of DCR to be decided at runtime. How config file comes to know which are the dcrs to be deployed at runtime.....Please clarify....

Presently we are using iwdd.ipl...actualy we call preprocessors which is written in java by us.

Is this also taken care by this 'iwodcmd' command...or do we need to do any config changes.....

Knowing the TS version is only half the information needed. We also need to know the version of OpenDeploy / DataDeploy.
iwdd.ipl is a pre-6.x CLT for DataDeploy as a separate product.
iwodcmd is a 6.x CLT for OpenDeploy - in 6.x, DataDeploy is an add-on module to OpenDeploy not a separate product.

It sounds to me like you're trying to use OD 6.x with DD 5.x - not recommended as far as I know.

Ealier we were using 5.x. Now we have move to 6.5. But we have not change change datadeploy mechanism. we do datadeploy using iwdd.ipl which is not recommended. Now we want to move to iwodcmd for datadeploy.

Can u pls send me some examples of ipl files from where i can call datadeploy using iwodcmd command...

Hi,

The only time I've seen that error come up was we had a workflow call a deployment and the user making the call was not added to the od-user role and allowed deployment list. Maybe I'm off base, but maybe the user you are trying to run the iwodstart is not an authorized OD user.

btw, we are using TS 6.5-SP2 and OD6.1
