Restarting OP Server

For some people it might look very basic but still i like to know abt it.

while we make any change in the odbase or odnodes.xml we need to restart the OP Server? why we are doing this activity, its just a xml file, how it is affecting the server? it is the xml data is stored in some cache.

Please let me know the exact logic?

No its just a xml file, whenever any file fetches data it will get the latest data instead of old one.

what my question was for java file while compiling it creates a class file for this xml file their no need of that kind. still why do we restart.

Restart the "Op server" ? Or do you mean resart the Base Server?

In the case of the latter - yes, I do believe that information is cached on startup and that in order to make changes effective you need to restart the service. Is there some reason why it doesn't provide for re-reading changed data in those files dynamically? Perhaps - I'm not sure.
