Hi ,

Is there a way to remove the page url (footer of the page) from printing
when printing a report from webpage. I know I can manually remove this from
file-->Page Setup and deleting "&u&b&d". But can I do this
programmatically.. using javascript.

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks in advance

There is no relation to the printed webpage whatsoever - this is a feature of your browser which cannot be changed from within a website.

This depends on the browser you're using. For instance, Firefox for Mac tragically cannot print pages without including the header, footer, etc. There is no way (no commonly-known way, anyway) to adjust this setting with Javascript.

Dave - I don't know about doing it programmatically - but on my Mac, with Firefox - in the Print Dialog - if you change the 3rd drop-down (the one below "Presets") to "Firefox" you'll see two sets of three drop-downs for left/center/right settings for headers and footers - and that seems to work just fine.

Hmm... I just tried this with so much hope, etc., but this is what I get from the "Firefox" menu (attached JPG -- crappy looking because of the file size restrictions they have here).

What version of Firefox? I'm using 1.5.0.6

Ah! I'm using 1.0.4. Y'know, as a fairly recent convert to the Mac platform, I thought the software update would have taken care of that for me. I hope I haven't completely forgotten how to do things for myself!

Thanks,

Dave

How does one become a Mac convert ? Throw all logic and reason out the door? :-)

Software Update only updates Apple software.
Firefox is not Apple software - however many programs have a preference option for checking for updates when they are run - or have menu options for checking for updates - Firefox has the latter under the Help menu.

You must be kidding - Mac vs. PC - it's a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned - Mac wins hands-down.

Mac vs. Linux is probably a tougher choice - I prefer the Mac because I don't really feel like doing a lot of system administration - which I believe is more important if you're using Linux (from my brief experiences with Linux)
