Customising Worksite Web Appearance
thecharmed01
I havent used this system before and have had a client approach me about changing the appearance of this application completely.
I am still waiting on them to provide me a copy to look at but I thought I would pop in here and see if anyone can give me a quick heads up as to how the application pulls its templating system into place.
Does it use html inside php files, in fact, is it php based? or asp or something else?
Are the html files seperated from the code side...?
I would also like to know what the cost is for the program as if it is easy enough to reskin, I may consider recommending it to a couple of other clients it sounds like it could be of use to.
Many thanks,
Sharyn

The WorkSite Web is a .Net based application. Out of the box it comes with 5-6 different themes. There are three different ways you can customize the look and feel.
1) Customize the CSS (Please refer to WorkSite CSS guide for more details)
2) Customizing existing theme ( refer to WorkSite theme customization guide
3) Creating a new theme ( refer to WorkSite theme customization guide)
Depending on the version of WorkSite Web, there are other means to customize the UI as well. The latest version(8.2) has most UI components in Javascript ( .js files in includes/ folder) .They are completely seperated from the serverside (.NET) code
The WorkSite Web Package contains all the guide I mentioned. If you need more info on the guide, you can contact our helpdesk at

Thank you for the information.
At this time, I dont have the access to the backend files or even install files to take a look into what sort of project this is going to be.
I do know they are using 8.1 though.
Head -----> Brick Wall stuff here I tell you.
I have been asked to provide a quote by a manager, but the IT people wont allow access until the job is accepted and I am "on staff"........
I just dont see how I can provide a quote on something I know nothing about without shooting myself in the foot however.
Does anyone here have a test environment they wouldnt mind me looking at just so I can get an idea of what I am working with (and even just what the application LOOKS like to users currently.
