Integrated Checkout option - where is this value stored???

In WSMP4.1SP1 (even for HFB7), for some reason, the "check-out" from web is not compatible with the "check-in" in outlook integration. But user can solve this by turning on the "Integrated Checkout" option under "My WorkSite">>"Options" in the web interface.

However, my customer do not want to ask every end user to turn this option on by themselves, and want to do some scripting or batch program to handle this in the back-end server level. Since this setting is on a per user basis, I would expect this is stored in the trustee related table in the DB, however, so far I am not able to locate it.

Please share with me if you know where this "Integrated Checkout" setting is stored.

It is stored in a ConfigDocument (in xml format, along with a few other user parameters) on the user's preferences facility. ConfigDocuments are identified by a unique path property and the path value for User Parameters ConfigDocument is in the format
com.imanage.worksitemp.userparameters.[userid]@[domain]
If the domain is empty, end the path by @. You can use Facility.getConfigDocument() method to read this document.

The user is the owner of this document and only the owner can view/edit this document.

The customer has taken out the "My WorkSite" in the web UI for some reason, so it's not possible to ask end user to turn on the "Integrated Checkout" by themselves. And in fact, the customer do not understand why this option is required. Do you know why?

I'm helping them to develop some custom program to turn on this Integrated Checkout option at the server side.

How can I create the config document for the end users? Is it by using the WSMP Java API? If so, is there any sample on this?

I notice that there's a DB table called "ConfigDocument" in the WSMP DB which stores the user options as XML. Is it also possible to make changes to the DB directly??

It is required to be enabled because this is applicable only for intranet usage. If you access the WorkSite MP web components on internet, this feature would not be available.

It is not possible to make this change directly on DB, as the document is stored in the file server. You need to retrieve the Config Document for each user and update it.

YOu can use Facility.createConfigDocument() to create this user parameters document. Please make sure that you correctly specify the path property.

I'm still not clear on the usage of Integrated Checkout, why it's related to intranet and internet? It looks to me this is only required when BOTH web and desktop tools are being used. Maybe I should ask this way....why the system need this option? Why just turn it on by default?

Regarding how to turn on this option on server side, can you help on providing Java sample code on this, the JavaDoc in the SDK is too simple with no sample, the WOM developer guide also have nothing on this topic, please help.
