Anyone who has a domain account can log in. Whether they see the assets or not is dependant on how you set up the permissions on the containers/folders.
They probably will need to be an admin to install it but to log in they dont have to be an admin on the local machine

A couple of points. First I wanted to draw a distinction between administartors on a particular machine which is a Windows construct, and MBAdmins. The list of who is and is not an MBAdmin is up to whoever configured the MediaBin and is not directly dependent on administrative privileges.
There is one overlap. As leaving nodoby in the MBAdmin group would leave one ina situuation in which one could get effectively locked out of managing the repository, and since anyone with low level access to the MediaBin server box can effectively get an access they want, we do stipulate that anyone who is a local admin on the MediaBin server (not client) has MbAdmin privileges. However, this represents a sufficient but not necessary condition. I.e., you do not have to be a box admin to be an MbAdmin.
There may also be some confusion between the administrative client, the MeM (MediaBin Enterprise Manager) which allows changing settings, disconnecting users, starting and stopping machines in a cluster, etc. which does require one to be an MBAdmin, and the Windows Native Client which does not.
It is correct however that you need local admin privileges to install the Windows Native Client.
Cheers,
