Moving a project

Hi members,

Need some help regarding this matter, is it possible to move a project from one workspace to another workspace?If it is,are they any conditions that we need to fulfill in order to do it?

Hi azzurri,

You can do that using following below steps:

1)go the project which u want to move to workspace in webcomponent.

2)click the action tab and choose "edit" it takes u to the project edit page where u can click the "downloadtemplate" and dowload it to local disk.

3)go to the workspace where you want to move this project folder.click add option in project folder give the name for project and below there will option asking for template where u can choose the "Local Project
Create project from the local template:"-->here choose the downloaded template and click create .it will moved to your specified workspace..

try this it will work......

Hi,

For document dolder and other contents there is option called move in action tag but for this i dont think such links available ..Even u cant able to move this project using layout option available in manage menu.It says that "This items cannot be moved" but i dont think we are having other options which we can move project to other workspace Let me know if someone knows this?

Just a follow-up to this thread. We've experience random scrambling of images in documents (both PDF and Word) when creating a template from a workspace and recreating the workspace in another facility (i.e. if a document is in the workspace when the template is saved there is a 50% that any embedded images will be scrambled when the workspace is recreated). I imagine the same thing would happen if we moved projects between workspaces in a similar manner. I've verified that it happens on our servers with IWOV, but it may only be our configuration (we just can't figure out why it's happening). Just something to watch for.
