Optional task(TS 6.5 ,win 2000)

I am new to workflow.Can I have 2-3 examples of workflows where it has been demonstarted how to create an Optional task in a workflow.
What I am looking for is an optional task for review by the Manager which has 2 concurrent reviews ('And' approval by both) as predecessors.
I went through the Workflow guide.But could find sufficient examples on this.

Few questions to clarify:
1. What do you want to say as 'optional task'?
2. Is there always been 2 reviewers prior to manager's review?

Solution for your requirement:
1. Create 2 different tasks; each for a reviewer.
2. Create an AND task.
3. Create Manager's review task.
4. For both reviewers task, successor would be AND task.
5. AND task have successor as manager's review task.
