Hi,

I want to lock an entire branch or just a directory. The iwlock description is :
"Locks any file or DIRECTORY in a TeamSite workarea."

But when I try to lock a directory i have the error message :
"ERROR:00021: Is a directory"

Is there a possibility to lock a branch or a directory ?

Manuals alone could not be enough to develop on TS. There is no provision in TS to lock a directory.

Even if you try it through Content Center ... Actions >> Lock... it will display you the error with description as : "Folders can not be locked".

Try looping through the directory and parse the files within.

I can't loop through the directory because it's to big.

So I want to lock the entire directory without parsing the file within.

This is not very appropriate solution to recurse the complete directory structure...Users can still create new pages in the branch or directory
Usually these kind a things like to lock a branch for 2 days so that no one can work on that area are required in projects.

I am aware we can create editions etc as workarounds but it will be nice to have feature to freeze the branch itself like we do for backing stores.

Contact Support and file a Featre Request (I believe something like this was suggested 4, 5, or even 6 years ago - perhaps its time for it to be revisited)

Delete all WA's and re-create them later on.

Or change the WA-owner/group so that normal users can not access the WA.
