TS 6.5 Migration

One of our customer is planning to consolidate 3 different TS 6.5 instances, into a single unified one. Since this are massive CMS implementations, we are looking out for a tool provided by Interwoven to expidite and automate this process.

If any-body knows, what can be the best possible approach, do let me know.

Massive task, I don't believe "one" tool will fit your purpose. The company I work for are "trying" to do a very similar three to one project.

Different instances of TeamSite require access to single config files on your merged platform. Only through analysis can you best determine how to migrate and manage this.

Additionally, you'd want to take into consideration your PERL modules, ensuring they don't overlap/overwrite anywhere. Hopefully if all three instances are have similar installation, the migration "should" be straightforward, but if they differ, you may find you've to re-write code to work with new file paths.

You may want to consider having multiple backing stores for each of your three instances on the shared platform. UI customizations may also prove to be a headache for you.

Best of luck with it, I don't believe it can be automated via a one-stop-shop script.
