iw_solution_email.ipl

is it possible to call iw_solution_email.ipl in another ipl
External task is calling an ipl from there i am calling the above ipl.

Ya sure, you can use "system" command to call that ipl or form a string like

my $xx= "/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl.exe $iwhome/local/bin/DCRReport.ipl $ss$rr $dateType $emailFrom $emailTo $taskid $wfid";

And you can execute like.

1. my $sta = `$xx` ;
2. my $sta = system($xx);

It is possible - but be aware that iw_solution_email.ipl will perform a callback - and as such - anything that happens in your wrapping script after having executed iw_solution_email.ipl will be happening after the current externaltask has become deactivated to being transitioned.

You might want/need to make a copy of iw_solution_email.ipl script and add a flag to it that will prevent it from performing the callback so that your wrapping script can do a better job of controlling things.

Of course - if the email is the last part of the wrapping script - the existing code for iw_solution_email.ipl should work fine - except for the comment that will get logged through its callback (it will be a canned comment and not something specific to the wrapping script).

i need to use this iw_solution_email command in a separate package so that
it is used generally by all.

In this case tasks will be different for different workflow then how u will specify the parameter for -t in the command so that all those who need to send mail can use this package to send mail.

I don't understand your question - but perhaps that's because you don't understand it either?

If you are specifying the command, you should know the context in which you are specifying it - either directly within the script, or by virtue of some additional information being passed to the script from its command line or (better, IMO) task level variables. Thus you can pass the name of the task to provide for the '-t' flag to your wrapper script which can then use it when calling the email script.

You still have the issue of callback unless the email is the absolute last thing to occur from your wrapper script - in which case the call to the email script will take care of both sending email and transitioning the workflow.
