Problem | UI customization

I am trying to add a new menu item in actions menu and for the time being trying to call simple html, but on clicking the newly added item this error is getting displayed -

Method Not Allowed
The requested method POST is not allowed for the URL /iw-cc/customer_samples/style_guide/writing_guide/hello.html.

The code in ui_custom.xml is as follows:

PUBLIC "-//Interwoven, Inc.//DTD UI Customizations 1.0//EN"
"../../../../reference/etc/conf/ui_custom.dtd">

//this part is working fine able to view data of hello.html

label="Writing Guide1"
url="/customer_samples/style_guide/writing_guide/hello.html"
target="_top" />

//the above error is comin while executing this part

I have kept the html in - web/customer_samples/style_guide/writing_guide/ directory of customer_src.

Any help to resolve this error will be great.

Sorry the above code is not coming correctly of ui_custom.xml, hence attaching file.

//this part is working fine able to view data of hello.html

label="Writing Guide1"
url="/customer_samples/style_guide/writing_guide/hello.html"
target="_top" />

//the above error is comin while executing this part
label="Regenerate All" description="Regenerate all pages" url="/customer_samples/style_guide/writing_guide/hello.html" target="_top" />

If you move this from customer_samples to customer then I believe it will work. A snippet frm UI customization guide -- page 76.
I am not 100% sure but if you can try to put some proxy rules in iw-webd to use customer_sample.

label="Writing Guide"
description="Writing Guide"
url="/customer/style_guide/writing_guide/index.html"
target="_blank">

Thanks for the reply, but the page is still giving the same error.

Hi,

This is what I did... My understanding is that all your custom code should go under /iw-home/httpd/iw/ or . Also once you add your custom code you need to run maketoolkit to make work your customization.

Try it out. Good luck

Did you activate the customer_samples toolkit in the toolkits.xml file?

Hi,

Every time you add or remove any customization, either in ui_custom.xml or roles.xml, you have to run the maketoolkit.ipl from :

iw-home/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_src

I believe you should have root access to run the ipl.

This is how I did my customization for Ericsson.

Jay
