callServer not working as desired

Hi,

I am new teamsite form api and perl scripting.
I want to set a value of hidden field on DCT using callServer() function but it is not getting set, though i am not getting any error.

I have attached my perl and java script file.
Pls. help.

First check whether its going inside setId funtion or not. If its going then try to check wheather callserver is executing the ipl or not by having some logging informtaion, if its working then alert whatever you want to reply, if thats also fine then try to set your item with your value. Go step by step by having least code so that you can debug yourself.

Your perl is all wrong. If you coded in any language whatever you know that just slapping html fragment in the middle of your
module is a questionable idea. Just try it in C++ or Java, Perl is no different.

Your CGI is all wrong. It is, beleive it or not a protocol. You have to output CGI defined elements into stdout in order for it to work.

So... Find cgi samples on DevNet, see how it's done. If that activity is more than passing episode, get yourself Perl and CGI books,

I have debugged and corrected my perl script.

Apparently i missed "print << EOT" statement to enclose all html part.

Apparently i missed "print << EOT" statement to enclose all html part.

Also, to satisfy CGI requirements you have to (at minimum) declare your output type. So, print the following before printing html.
Please note two <EOLs>, keep it this way

$| = 1; #forces a flush after every write or print, Optional
print "Content-type: text/html\n\n";
