Teamsite Groups

Hi,

TeamSite 6.5 (SP 2) Solaris 8.

I am using teamsite groups for one of our projects. When user edits some files and upload it back to teamsite, it is changing the teamsite groups for the file to his unix group. If the file is Submitted it will change the group to the teamsite group assigned.

Is there a way this can be avoided so that the after editing and uploading the file it will retain the teamsite groups itself?

DMC,
It is default Unix behavior to assign the group owner of a file as the default group of the user adding that file.
You might try modifying the default group for the user to be iwglobal (or whatever you have specified in iw.cfg as your TeamSite groups OS group)
[iwserver]
iwglobal_group=group_name

I am not in front of a Unix system right now, so I cannot test this idea, please let me know if it works.

If you're not worried about the access rights while the file is modified in the workarea - the submit.cfg's changing of the owner/group information should be sufficient (and efficient).

If you're worried about group access while the file is modified in the workarea - go through the file system interface and do a chmod g+s on the directory(ies) in question.
