Workarea ownership issue
System
Teamsite 5.5.2.
I have 2 workareas in different branches that are both shared with the group "IWOps". How can I change the group for sharing of one to a different group?
I thought iwidmap would help, but a group extract shows the following entry for IWOps

a user extract shows the following entry for IWOps

I don't know a lot about iwidmap, but it appears that a TOKEN maps a SID to all workareas shared by that SID. If that's the case then how, without recreating the workarea, do I change one without changing the other?

Hey Evan
I cannot beleive you are still on 5.5.2 ouch
You are on Solaris ? You can just try a chgrp if you want the primary group to change.

Yeah, don't go there about 5.5.2 -- we're getting to it some day...
I should have put in my original post, we're on Windows 2000. Can we change the permissions at the OS level? I assumed that wouldn't work.
nipper
I forgot which OS you were, since it was 2002 when I was last there. Yea that *should* work on 2K, but I have not tried it.
BTW, check your iw.cfg, do you have branch_security set ? That may impact this.

We currently have branch_security set to off. Would this impact an OS level folder permission change?
nipper
If you have it off you are good to go. If it is turned on, then even though the group has access to the WA, branch_security would prevent a user from seeing the branch.

So we added a group to the workarea at the OS level, but users in that group can't see the workarea in their list of possible workareas (when users browse workareas). Any other thoughts?

If you view properties on the workarea, what do you see (properties within TeamSite not Windows)
Also, is workarea_security turned on in the iw.cfg ?
