Integrating TeamSite with Java Struts
tsuman
Hi,
We want to integrate TeamSite with Java Struts. Please let me know:
1. Are there any performance issues in that?
2. What are the key factors that we need to understand / keep in mind during design?
3. Any other known issues for this integration?
Thanks,
Suman

Hi,
what do you mean with "integrate TeamSite with Java Struts" exactly?
In which TS component do you want to integrate struts?
What do you want to to? What do you want to achive with the integration?
What OD and TS version do you have?
Regards
Stefan

We have done this and are doing this. We use struts (plus tiles) inside of all of our workflow CGI tasks and any ContentCenter customizations that we have written.
They perform much faster than perl and we have not noticed any issues with using them.
We have not run into any issues. Just be careful to use the correct *old* version of struts as TeamSite Content Center has dependencies on some outdated Jakarta commons libraries (look in the content center web app lib directory to see them all) which prevents you from using the latest Struts code. I think you have to use the original Struts 1.1 code for it to be usable, without introducing possible compatibility problems with the rest of content center.
This is the case with TeamSite 6.1 and 6.5. I participated in the 6.7 beta and all of our stuff still worked in 6.7, but I don't believe that Interwoven has updated any of these dependencies.
