Generating .jsp pages from TeamSite
tsuman
Hi,
We have a requirement where we are required to generate .jsp pages from TeamSite. Please let me know:
1. Any specific configuration (.cfg) has to be made in TeamSite?
2. Are there any special Tags or so, that we can use in the presentation templates?
3. Any other known information?
4. Are there any known issues (performance, deployment, etc.) ?
Thanks,
Suman

Hi,
in principle the generation of JSP files doesn't differ from the generation of HTML- TXT- or similar filetypes.
Set the attribute extension="jsp" within the template tag in templating.cfg.
There're no special PT-tags to write JSP files, you can use the standard set of PT tags supported by your TS version
(don't mix up PT tags with special JSP tags of your web application:
PT tags are interpreted at file generation time, JSP tags are compiled by your webserver if there's a HTTP request...)
See Templating Dev Guide for more information.
Also there's no principle difference between deploying JSP file or HTML files: both are files which are transferred to your webserver.
Note, that the preview of your generated JSP files is a little bit harder than previewing HTML files.
We use an additional installed tomcat for previewing JSP files within our workareas, but that's only one possible solution.
Regards
Stefan
