TeamSite Search index folder

Where do I find the TeamSite Search 'index folder' or 'collection folder' to backup / recover the indices?
(Per KB 55588.)
1. Stop the Index server
2. Restore the backup of the entire collection folder
3. Restart the Index server.

I depends on the configuration of TeamSite Search this is usally configured during the installation of Search.

Hi Marge,
The collection (or index) folder path is prompted(hence input) by the installer and the value is maintained in the %SEARCH_INSTALL_DIR/etc/search.properties file.

This can be changed(modified) even after the installation is done.

You can use any text editor to modify this value and point it to the new existing folder.
Note that the value is at two places (coresponding to search and index services) so be careful to modify both of them.

The windows folder copy can be used to take the backup of the collection dir.
