Copying from one branch to another

Hii Everyone,
I am using TS6.7 Solaris8.

I want a workflow which will copy file(s) from one branch to another, I am sure some one must have done this before.
I don't want to re-invent the wheel ;-) . Can anyone please share that workflow?

Not a workflow, we use either OpenDeploy if you want a repeatable function (ours populates 15 branches with the templatedata and other dirs), or use copyTo if this is a once in a while task.

The nice thing about OD is that you can filter out trash (like zz files)

Hi Nipper,
Basically we have a development branch where we update the templates and then we need to copy them to 6 other branches. I mentioned workflow, since it would give option to select multiple files and deploy them. In the worklfow also we will be using OD.

Please send the repeatable function so that I can use it in my workflow .

If this particular utility you are looking for code deployment and under release management mechanism then I may not use fancy GUI etc but I would prefer to use a normal config file and will go for filelist deployment.

Very easy and quick to perform

Is there any reason why an updatetask (or a set of updatetasks) in your workflow would not work? You could even have a WFconstructor generated workflow that generated a number of updatetasks based on the target branch(es) selected.

I use iwupdate instead... and use a config file that does pretty much the same... but I copy code from a dev. WA to other workareas... I guess could do the same with branches...
