Selective/Block Tagging

Hey Everyone,

We are using TS 6.5 SP2, and we would like to tag only specific files with metadata. We currently call on the tagging screen from the workflow through an external task, and we would like to block the tagging of files from the templatedata directory.
I have looked on other posts, and it seems to be possible through "block tagging", but I could not find any concrete examples on how to implement this. Any ideas?

I assume you mean a 'cgitask' not an 'externaltask' - One way to do this within the context of the workflow would be to have your own custom cgitask that reads the list of files associated with the workflow, filters them and then invokes the tagger GUI with the remaining files (or one-by-one if you don't want to use the current multi-file tagging UI - to be greatly enhanced in 6.7.1 SP1). I think you might also be able to do some filtering in the wizard interface, but I'm not that familiar with that approach.

Another possibility - and fairly easy to do - is to configure the conditions in the metadata-rules.cfg such that there are either no fields, or one "informative" field, associated with files within /templatedata/ - RTM for more details.
