I am working on TS 6.5 Sun solaris.I need to customize the delete functionality provided in the Team Site. My requirement is such that for some specific folders under some workareas userscannot delete the files at all through the teamsite. 1) Is it possible to disable the Delete link for specific folders?OR2) If the user selects a file and clicks on delete, then he must get an alert telling that the user cannot delete the particular content. For remaining folders he should be able to use the Delete as usual. Is this possible? Is it possible to customize the JSP(which is called when Delete link is clicked) such that it checks for file path and alerts the user for specifc folders and for rest of files deletion to happen normally.RegardsDixit
Dixit,The requirement which you are looking for is NOT possible. However as ghoti said you can add a customize link within your menu items to get the required funtionality.
Really trying to pad your post count aren't you? ;-)
Ghoti, I have already removed the IW provided delete button and put custom button, where i will call my code! Can you please give ur comments on this. Is it possible to call the default delete functionality after i have added my customized code? Scenario:Folder zzz contains the files which cannot be deleted. -If the user selects a file under this branch and clicks on the customized delete button, he gets an alert stating, deletion of file not allowed.-If the user selects another file outside the folder zzz, the customized delete should act as the default delete.Now my question is, how can i call the default delete functionality into my customization? -Dixit
unlink()
I don't believe that there is anything special about the "default delete" command - it's basically just a (in perl) unlink().
So, can we say that, irrespective of what we are deleting from the TeamSite : be it a file, or a branch or a workarea , basic concept behind 'DELETE' is unlink() in UNIX... and that, it's only the messages shown by the Teamsite that really differentiate between deletion of different type of asset in TeamSite. Will implement this and try!-Dixit
OOPS - NO.For branches you want to use iwrmbr with the correct arguments.For workareas you want to use iwrmwa with the correct arguments.For files and directories - a simple unlink() will do.Sorry - I forgot you wanted to deal with branch and workarea deletion too (optionally - leave the Delete function in for Masters and/or Admins, and just remove it completely for Authors and Editors - on the assumption that Masters and Admins can be trusted to do the right thing)
