Group task workflow.

I have a very simple group task workflow using Workflow constructor. I see no problem with it, But the Group email which has to be sent out to the group is not working for some reason, can anyone let meknow where i am going wrong. Please suggest a way to work that group email task.

What does "is not working" mean?
Does the task hang?
Does the email not get sent to the correct addresses?
etc.
What have you done to try and debug it?

I Workflow as itself works, but before the Group task, there is a phase where email have to be sent to the members of the group. This is not working at all.
I have set the debug flag and checked the job spec. the transitions seems to be correct. then i tried to run the External task command from the command line window.

Hi,

On the first thought i would like you to check the spaces in between your task name and the task variable values being passed to the task at the time of its activation.

As per the error defined... it seems to be that an individual numeric value is being passed but not understood by the interpreter.

There seems to be no problem in your workflow... since you couldnt run the standalone script the problem could be in the ipl file..
Try compiling the ipl using command

C:\Interwoven\TeamSite\bin>C:\Interwoven\TeamSite/iw-perl/bin/iwperl -c C:\Interwoven\TeamSite\local\config/wft/solutions/iw_solution_email.ipl

Interesting point i have noticed here is that, when the email task is done and the control is at "Review1" the all the members of the group should see this task as active in their " My Jobs" window under workflow tab, but they are not seeing it there. Instead they are seeing it when they choose " All Jobs". they can go to that Job and take the ownership of the job though.

This is what i am sepcifying in the "configurable_author_assignemnt.cfg"

Not sure if this is semantics, nor which UI your users are using, but...

"My Jobs" will only ever list jobs for which you are the owner. Just because you are assigned a task in the workflow, it doesn't make you the owner of that job, thus it will not show up there.

In CCPro, the "My Tasks" view also does not show group tasks (at least as of 6.1). This has been discussed several times on these forums. To view group tasks, you need to go to the "Unassigned Group Tasks" view. I think in 6.5 or 6.7, there may have been enhancements to this, but we're still stuck on 6.1 Smiley Sad

You can only run this when the jobid and taskid are active - i.e. the taskid should be the id of the externaltask which must be active at the time you run this command from the command line.

I suggest you download and read the Workflow Tutorial Supplement (it's old but still reasonably accurate) - you can find it by searching on DevNet.

A hack I use is to rename the Perl file, run the WF. Then the WF will hang on the perl process. You can then restore the perl file and test. Of course if you performa callback in the code, it will complete the workflow.

A simpler hack it seems to me is to comment out the callback in the code. Then, you can run it as many times as you want.
