modified files not submitting

Using a script I am running the unix "touch" command to trigger the modified status on a set of files in teamsite. The modified status changes when viewed in teamsite...so far so good. I then try to submit these files but they never make it to staging. The script worked for the first time I ran it as the files actually had some content changes. Now even though I am touching the files, the content is identical to those in staging.

Is teamsite doing some kind of compare to see if there are any differences between those modified in the workarea and staging ?
and... if it finds no content differences it does not submit them??

This vaguely rings a bell... but I haven't really had to deal with this recently... What version of TS are you on?

For sure though files will submit if you change the permissions without changing content.

yes we are using Teamsite 6.5a...I don't really want to change permissions
to make them submit nor have I tried this.

TeamSite goest to some lengths not to create meaningless versions of files - and just touching a file will not (always) cause a file to get submitted. You will probably get better diagnostics regarding this kind of thing by running the iwsubmit CLT from the command line.

If the files are non-binary in nature - you can usually do something like open the file for appending and add a blank line to the end of the file - save it, and then submit it.

Otherwise you may have to use one of the various options available for the iwsubmit CLT to try to force the submissions regardless of the fact that no change has been made to the file(s).
