Populating reviewers from xml file

Hi,

I am trying to populate the list of users with their real name from a xml file in which I have grouped them in to different categories like business users and technical users. Is there a snippet of code to extract the real names of the users and show them in the approver list. Its fine if you could tell me the approach in acheiving above scenario.

Find enclosed xml file. The reviewer list should be in the form of a drop down.

You would have to parse your XML and build html fragment out of it - like regular HTML's <select>...</select>
for example. Then


my $approvers_html = your_function_to_build_select_html();

craete a ipl and use the following perl modules then craete a simple select list and call your xml file with a param name. using DCRparser you need to find the Internal Content Admin in the node list and then your reviewers name. its simple.

Can't I pick up the names from email_map.cfg instead of a separate xml file?
If not then what should be the alternate approach?

You can pick up the list of names from wherever you want - as long as you code it appropriately. The email_map.cfg file doesn't (out-of-the-box) contain any kind of reference to the role (e.g.: reviewer) that a user might perform - and therefore unless everyone in that file can act as a reviewer or you modify the DTD of that file to contain an additional element or attribute from which you can determine their role -- it's probably not a great choice.

If you're using 671SP1 - you might consider using the OOTB Reviewer role, or create your own role (e.g.: "WF_Reviewer") associate those users who will perform that action with that role on those branches where you want, and then use the iwaccess CLT (look at the usage) to retrieve the list of userids for that role for that branch...
