Window close, unload events

TeamSite 6.5 sp2, Windows.

We are wanting to execute a call server on the datacapture close event, and also when the user just closes the winow. would this be using onUnLoad? Has anyone done this before?

Unfortunately, there is no FormAPI event in 6.5 when the person just closes their browser (y'know, CTRL-W or hitting the "X" on the upper-right). There may be one in 6.7 (doubt it) but I'm not using it yet.

Actually - the onClose event might be triggered when clicking the "X" to close the window - Since you'd have to use this anyway for the more graceful close window event handling you can find out if it works for both. I don't think it will work for Ctrl-W though (but who knows... it might)

Nope, I'm afraid it doesn't. It only works when a user clicks on "Finish" or "Close". IWDatacapture.close() doesn't even kick off the event.

This is a bit of a hack but I suppose one could use Javascript's native onUnload event to do something.

we are using the following to call a custom script, the call server was not executing consistently when the user closed the window, so we instead call a [self-closing] popup window that is a cgi, and we use the below code to register the onUnload handler:
