[TS 6.5] Submit impossible from Compare view - no WF found?

I just filed the following support case... I'm guessing this is a bug, so everyone's seeing it the way I do... just wondering if anyone spotted a workaround that actually makes it work. Maybe regarding the way you write the config in available_templates.cfg?

Scenario:
TS 6.5, ccpro. Viewing files. Some files in directory are modified.
I click on the "compare" action (in the right part of the menu bar), which opens /iw-cc/command/iw.ccpro.list_compare_files
In the "Newer in ..." tab I select some files, and in the bottom of the page I click "Submit >"

Actual behaviour : A popup opens, with the title: "Select a Workflow". Apart from the title bar, the window is blank. So I can't submit.

Expected behaviour: I would be able to choose from the same set of applicable workflows as can be chosen when I go to "Submit" directly from the file view.

Obviously a workaround is available by submitting directly from the directory view. It's still a bug though, as the user experience is inconsistent.[/INDENT]

Do you have any workflows defined in available_templates.cfg that do not have a branch specification?

It's possible (though I'd agree it would seem like a bug) that the Compare view does not maintain the branch/workarea context that exists when viewing the workareas directly.

Hi ghoti... you gave me a little push to test this some more.

I did have non-branch-specific WF, 2 of them.

Actually, the usual trick of recuding file to its simplest version, and building towards more complex, realistic config, did the trick.

The general bug description seems to be this: if I have one applicable WF, then the submit from compare screen works. It's ok to have more than 1 WF defined, as long as only one is applicable. If more than one is applicable than the submit-from-compare-screen gets stuck on a blank select WF screen.

I did a number of tests with the 'branch_list' setting to verify this... By switching between "main_non-existing-branch" and "main" in the second definition (cfg below), I can see the difference in behaviour.

So the problem is that it doesn't seem to be able to display the choices of workflows to select from?
Interesting - I, personally, don't believe I've ever tried to initiate a workflow from that particular mode - and it's possible that this also never got QA'd in such a way.
