Preview showing error

I am using TS 6.5.
After logging into TS, selected the check box against any of the existing DCR & clicked on the Preview option from the Global Tools available in the Content tab. The DCR opens in the Read only mode.
I tried right clicking the Preview option and selected "Open in a new window".
An Error message saying:“Please select a form entry.” is poped and neither the preview is shown.

Can anyone please let me know where am i going wrong or is this a known bug in TS 6.5 ?

If you want to open DCr in edit mode then, with every DCR in the list having a "Edit" link in the list of DCRs, just click on the edit, it will open for you in edit mode.

what is the purpose of preview??? Do you want to view how the content will look as html output?? or you want to edit your dcr?

Probably you selected the check box for the DCR and then you right click on the preview button saying "Open in new windows", this means you are opening a new window to see the preview but there it is not getting any file selected (as opening in new window)

If you select a DCR and simply click the preview button you will get the DCR to open in read-only mode, next if you want to open it in edit mode click on "EDIT" link followed by DCR name.

Hope this will clear your doubt.

One more thing, you need not to force to open it in a new window, as interface itself open preview in a new window.

I agree to what u said.
The preview opens perfectly fine if i directly click the on the preview option on the DCR. but did u try opening in a new window by right clicking ? is this strange ?

See, when we click on Preview button, it must look for some information in current window like DCR selection and if DCR selected, it opens perfectly.

When we right click and say open in new window, interface does not send required information to new windows and it give the error message. I think, this is the way, preview function designed rather any bug, limitation.
