version reverting (TS 6.1 ,windows 2000)

Hi
Please tell under what all circumstances can the version of files get reverted to the previous one.I am unable to figure out why this happened .Is there any log i can search to figure out the probable cause?

Somone did it. Possibly a get latest with override (if the changes were not submitted). iwrlog is a command you can use to see what happened, also use file properties and look at the versions.
