Hi,

I want to set the read-only attribute to all the fields under a container\replicant. Is it possible for me to do this at the container level, so that i dont have to set the read-only for each and every field under the container.

You can do this either within the DCT (hard-coded) or via FormAPI (dynamic).

The first way is trivial, but the rendering effects (as I recall) are hideous.
The second way is relatively easy if you're using TS 6.5 or higher (replicant event handlers added in 6.5) and the effect cleaner (though I think there's still a slight rendering issue if I remember correctly).

If you're not using 6.5 (or higher) I believe you may still be able to do it with FormAPI but it's significantly less trivial (I don't recall the details, but I'm pretty sure they've been posted in these forums before).

If you're using 6.5 - I recommend [re-]reading the FormAPI Developer's Guide manual.

While looping it through... it is not making the fields readonly. If you achive that...please do share.

Then you're doing something wrong. As Adam stated, this is fairly simple and straight forward. Please post your poorly written code and someone should be able to help.
