TeamSite 6.7.1 questions

I just downloaded TeamSite 6.7.1 and I have some questions. I am upgrading from a TeamSite 6.7.0 install on Windows 2003 Enterprise.

1) Page 9 of the release notes mentions a limitation concerning the content store when upgrading from 6.7.0 to 6.7.1 and references bug #69055 in chapter 3. I can't find that bug in chapter 3 or on the support site. What should I watch out for before I upgrade?

2) Can I use the same license file?

3) I noticed that there is a new search installation package, but I can't find any documentation about installing it.

Any license after 6.5 SP2 is supposed to work with 6.7.1, you shoud not need to regen. I know I did not going from 6.5 to 6.7.

My 6.7.1 Beta license expired, just in time for 6.7.1 to be released. Smiley Happy

Time to download the real thing.

Yes you are supposed to be able to do that. However, the note that is referenced in the first post is a concern. I will see if I can find anything out about this & post if I can.

On the support site, go to "Download Products" rather than "Download Documentation". Choose your version and you will see the documentation links below the executable files. The only updated docs for 6.7.1 are release notes, supplement, and WorkflowModeler.

From reading the post on the bug, it *appears* this fix went in to 6.7.1 and that is why it was delayed.

The last note was to remove the reference in the release notes (sounds like that did not happen).

This issue could cause a backingstore failure (from what I can tell, remote possibility) so if you are on a testing server and can afford to lose the BS, then go ahead. Otherwise I would confirm with support that this is OK.

I am proceeding, once I can get the download to start. Smiley Very Happy

What date were the release notes generated ?

This bug was fixed on 10/9 and release notes updated on 10/10. That *may* be why your copy has the bug referenced.

According to the Release notes, one needs to Instal OD Admin software before installing 6.7.1, has any one tried the other way around, cuz we are still waiting on the OD Licenses, i thought i would instala 6.7.1 and then install OD 6.1

Please advice.

You have to install OD Admin first.. This is because the OD Admin Installer (which released before TS 6.7.1) ships with a different JRE and the TS 6.7.1 Installer uses a newer JRE. If you install the OD Admin after installing TS 6.7.1, the installer will overwrite the new JRE which could lead to uninstall issues on TS in the future. Hence the recommendation..
