Hi,
I have to map data from DCR to the database.
But I need to first perform some operations on the values like appending string etc and then map the final value to the database.
What is the best way to do this.
I am currently performing these operations and setting the final value in a hidden item.
Is there any other way to do the same.

Look at the feature called External Tuple Preprocessor. This allows you to manipulate the DCR values prior to deployment to the database.

Being data deploy memory intensive ... I would be happy to use the same, If i have to do the manipulation on data which is pre-known to me at the time of creating the DCR.

In this case we are not leaving anything extra for DD to do.
