I am supposed to uninstall all of these:- TS 6.5 SP1- MT 4.0.1and to install the old version of TS (5.5.2 SP5).I have successfully removed both listed components (TS and MT) in a required order (as per install/uninstall instructions).mt-home directory, upon completed uninstall, was manually removed.Since I want to have a clean box (no prior IWOV traces), before starting my 5.5.2 install phase, I was wondering if I could manually remove the other three TS 6.5 (leftover) directories:d:\iw-homed:\iwinstallc:\Program Files\Interwoven\iwinstallMy understanding for iwinstall is that old versions (in my case 5.5.2) would not need that framework and features build off iwinstall functionality.Could anybody advice?thx ..
Well - if you want a clean box - why not wipe it and reinstall the OS too - that way you'll be sure you have a clean box.
Otherwise - if you've uninstalled all the Interwoven products as per Add/Remove Programs and any other mechanism - you should be able to just remove those directories as well (hopefully the uninstallers will correctly clear out the registry too).
However - just to make sure you understand - you will NOT be able to use the same backing store that you were using for the 6.5 server. You will either have to start with a brand-new (empty) backing store, or retrieve a 5.5.2 backing store from tape and hope that its in reasonably good shape
We'll be moving the backing store from our existing 5.5.2 server to this server.
I'm guessing you were working towards an upgrade to 6.5, and then decided against that scenario... If so, out of curiosity, can I ask why?
