WF does not ends evenif <cgitask> succeeds to <endtask>

Hi ,

Using TS 6.1 win 2k SP4.

I have a simple wf .

1. Metadata task
2. to take some input from user

.....for this i have called a .ipl file from which constructs the page which is used to take input from user . on click of submit button ..this ipl again calls second ipl .

This second ipl executs 'iwextattr' cmd .
3. end task .

When I initiate the WF ....everything goes fine .......but the 2nd task still remains in the WF .

What should i write in end of my second ipl file so that the control should again goto .... after completion of execution of second ipl file .(so that is called at the end )

Attaching wft , both ipl files .

I only looked at the one ipl but it seems to me that you're calling:

$task->CallBack(0, "Out of setExtAttr IPL");

too early. If you were to use this statement after your HTML output, what happens then? Also, what do you observe in this task -- does the HTML get rendered? Also, what does your worklfow spec look like? You're calling back to 0 but where does that go?

I tried to keep

at last of ipl file , but still its not working . the task is still active .

Your workflow is very straight-forward and it's not clear to me as to why the callback isn't working properly. What happens when you do the callback from the command line?

To answer your question, you can absolutely accomplish both cgitasks' functionality in one task. I generally prefer doing it this way and what you basically wind up with is a form that posts to itself, possibly multiple times. The script has IF statements (or SWITCH statements if you want to be fancy) to determine whether you're at the "first" or "nth" screen, etc.

This doesn't resolve the issue of why your task isn't transitioning, though. Another thing I can think of is maybe your task object isn't being set right. I might do more logging and check to see if "task" is a valid object -- I'd log the taskid once you have it. If it looks like you expect it to, there's no reason the task object wouldn't be created with the appropriate modules loaded, which you have.
