Screen repaint

Hello -

When launching a custom app (dll) from Desksite 8 (basically exactly what's outlined in the 'Creating custom commands in worksite' manual), desksite doesn't repaint it's screens once my app is running.

My program runs fine, but as windows in my app are opened and closed, the desksite window gets more and more trashed.

Is this the expected behavior of desksite? Or should I be minimizing the desksite window before launching my dll?

Any tips appreciated.

This is because the main thread, which is responsible for repainting the Desksite window, is trapped inside the custom command while the command is being executed. When this main thread returns from the command, it will repaint itself. So, this is the expected behavior of Desksite. The command can minimize the Desksite window at the beginning of execution and restore the window just before it returns.
