JS and backend CGI scripts does not work on some machines

Hi,

I am facing a problem where by on one of my cleint's machine my JS files for hiding the left container in Teamsite DCR's is not working.
And also the Browse button for many items called via CGI script does not open any popup while both the things correctly work on my machine and several other machines.

I am sure this is a machine dependent thing but is there something that needs to be enabled on clinet side which will make this work?
Some security settings like that or some other installations?
Currently it is set to Medium in my client's case and also active scripting is set to enabled.
The Browser used were IE 6 and Firefox 2.1

could be popup blocker also could be that javascript is disabled.

Only way I have fixed issues like this before is to compare properties line by line
