User deleted, updating ownership

Hello,

We had a user leave and his LAN account was deleted and only his SID is displaying in Content Center. He owned a large number of Branches and Workareas. What is the best way to update ownership in TeamSite?

I can't seem to find the 'Missing Manual' for iwidmap.

I've read the one page about iwidmap in the CLT manual. It advises the reader to learn more about SID mapping in the ADMIN manual. However, I can find nothing on SID mapping in the ADMIN manual.

In my case, what's the general idea? Do I use iwidmap to map the old user's SID to another, existing, user (such as tsadmin, as you suggest)? Does that result in a single username (token?) being mapped to multiple SID's within TeamSite?

Since iwidmap will be updating the owner of files in STAGING, will that change cause OpenDeploy to think it needs to re-deploy the files?

Nope.

If you use filelist deployments. No problem. If you do a date different deployment, iwidmap should not affect the date, only the owner, so that should not cause any issues. Since files (typically) change ownership when they are deployed anyway, OD does not look at the owner when pushing out files.

I believe the answer is "No" - because the files are not being modified in any way. iwidmap is (as the name suggests) mapping the id associated with various files to a different user - it's not replacing nor modifying the id associated with those files.

Remember that you will have to deactivate / re-activate the store after running the iwidmap command in order to see the changes take effect.
