Extracting Taxonomy Driven EA only yeids the label(s) not the <alt>terms</alt>

Hi,

I'm tagging DCR's using MetaTagger. Some of the fields are based on browse only Taxonomies and I'm collecting the alternate terms for the choosen node and any parent nodes. When the EA's get saved to Teamsite only the labels of the choosen node and parent nodes get saved into the EA for the field. All the alternate terms that I need are in the metadata record as xml in the subjectMetadata0+ EA but not placed in the value of the EA like I would expect.

When I use iwextattr to get the EA's from the DCR and embed them into in my output files tpl files I only get the labels. What I want is all the alternate terms that correspond to those labels which only exist in the subjectMetadata0 xml record!

So my question is this. Has anyone run into this before and have you had to resort to parsing the subjectMetadata0+ as xml to get at the alternate terms?

I believe an alternate EA gets set for each of those with the string _code appended. It contains the id of the node of the taxonomy which you could then query to get the alternates and other details. I haven't actually implemented anything with it yet, but that's how it looked when Clark B. walked me through it a week or two ago.

Could you explain query? In what context? .tpl/perl, cgi

I have been able to use the ID to parse the subjectMetadata0+ xml record. Is that what you mean? This is a last resort. I'd like the values in the EA from the beginning.
