Deployment Agent - Asset metadata deployment to database.
Aryan
Hello,
Can you please tell me how to go about writing scripts to deploy asset metadata on to my own database schema when I deploy the assets to the delivey system using the deployment agent.
Thanks,
Aryan

Can you provide more details? What is the "delivery system" you mention in many of your posts.
Here's my best guess at what you're trying to do: you want to deploy assets to some remote target server (which is what Deployment Agent does)... and you also want to write the metadata of those assets to a database. You want to do both of these functions each time a Deployment Agent schedule runs and you want the script that writes metadata to your database to run on the Deployment Agent server.
Assuming that's correct, you can add a processing step into Deployment Agent after P3. P3 is generation of the derivatives. Derivatives are assets retrieved from MediaBin, possibly using a repurposing task. metadata.exp is produced in P3. Your script would open metadata.exp, connect to your database, and for each row in metadata.exp write the metadata to your database table.
If you don't care about metadata.exp being copied to your remote target system, then you're done. Otherwise, you can delete metadata.exp from the file system and also remove it from the Deployment Agent database. If you need to inhibit copying of metadata.exp, I can look into exactly what needs to be deleted in the Deployment Agent database to accomplish that.
I mentioned in a previous post how you need to structure your script.

Thanks a lot. Thats exactly what I was looking for...
