OD: Deploy content in ASCII format

Hi ,
we are using TS6.5 SP2, OD 6.0.2 on windows and deploying content to webservers(iplanet) on solaris.

I want to know is there any configuration in OD which allow me to deploy the content in the ASCII format rather than Binary format as done by default by OD.

Webservers on the solaris have some Crons running which need Flies(excelsheets) in ASCII format to do the necessary processing. But since the Excelsheets are transferred to the Webservers from OD in the binary format , Cron is not able to process it.

OD is a distribution application and does not have any type of configuration to change the content format. Rather i suggest you to change the format in the reciever server.... with the help of the same or a new cron job.

Excel files are binary to begin with - OD simply transfers it as is. On either side of the deployment a script could be run to create an ascii version of the spreadsheet from the excel file (there are perl modules you can download to assist with this - look on search.cpan.org for information).
