Porting DCRs between Teamsite environments?

Our shop needs to implement a process to port data created in one Teamsite environment to another Teamsite environment. This is becoming more of an issue as we integrate use of Interwoven with different company websites. Currently, we do not have an automated method of porting the DCRs or generated html files from Dev Teamsite to Prod Teamsite. This forces our customers to reenter content in Prod Teamsite after they have finished their testing and signoffs in Dev. Copy and paste of DCRs does not work, as the internal indexing is lost.

Our team will be doing research for this process and write scripts to perform this function. However, we would like to find out if there is anything available that we can make use of today. We are currently running with version 6.1 of Teamsite. Is there any type of utility or script that allows a copy of teamsite objects such as DCRs, but also keep the internal connection to teamsite, or any suggestions to get us started?

What do you mean by internal indexing?

There are two options for getting dcrs and generated files with file information on another system:

Opendeploy:
You can include TeamSite extended attributes (EAs) in a TeamSite comparison deployment to a target TeamSite area. For more Information see the OD Admin Guide.

Custom script:
Extract EA information via command line tools on source system, copy files and set EAs again on target system.

what is stopping you from using OpenDeploy?

Nothing is stopping us from trying any idea and we welcome any explanation of those ideas. From your question, are you implying that we can change the target deployment configuration to deploy from one teamsite server to another teamsite server and retain the attributes of the DCR files? Can you elaborate? Thank you.

Yes. You can add/change your configuration to do something like that.

As I said you can do an OpenDeploy comparison deployment to a target TeamSite server. For more information see the OpenDeploy Admin Guide Chapter 2 "TeamSite Comparison Deployments". Look for section "Deploying TeamSite Extended Attributes with TeamSite Files".

I would just add that you'd need some recent versions of OpenDeploy to do that (I don't remember outta my head which particular version).
