Changing DCR item names

Hi All,

We are migrating our current application from one set of teamsite templates to new templates which we have created. The basic structure of these two sets is same but there are some places where the tag names(item names) are different, some tags are missing or some new tags have been added in the DCR.So we will have to make required changes in these DCRs to make them working on new templates.
Can somebody suggesst a way or is there any teamsite CLT which can be useful for this activity, otherwise we are planning to make the updates using normal perl file reading.
We are using TS 552

There is no CLT to help you to map DCRs created with *older* template to DCRs created with the *newer* ones.
Regular XML parsing using tools you are comfortable with is a correct approach.

Best way to overcome the situation is to write your own code... which reads out from the former and create a new one.

This way... you could catch the expected issues and concerns with in your own program.

we had a similar situation, that was we need to change some of the attributes value in the DCR.

So you can use iwperl and open the DCR as a File. Since you know the old item name and new item name, you can use simple regex find replace method, and update the DCR file.

Other than that - I'd say the code is a reasonable approach, just a questionable implementation.

Hi,

we did also a migration from TS 5.5. to TS 6.5 involving the change of a lot of items including content.

Making long stories short: you have to write your own scripts doing this. We used in the end a mixture between XSLT scripts (for easy mappings of the content) as well as some perl modules, because we also needed to edit stored values based on a certain taxonomy.

Sorry to say, that there is not really an easy way for this.
