Active dummytask with a timeout

Is it possible to change the timeout on the active dummytask?

I'm in a dev process, and this task has an expiry of 4 weeks. I've tried both

iwsettasktimeout and changing task properties in the ui. Both give me an error.

iwcallback does not work either.

No, it is not possible to change the timeout of an active dummy task. It is clearly mentioned in the manuals as well.

That's not very useful. Is there a FR for a clt to progress the dummytask?

What manual are you referring to? I can't find this in the WF dev guide/clt manual

Hmm - which manual are you reading?
The only reference I see that comes close to saying this in the 6.5 Workflow manual is:[indent]Dynamic Attributes

Modification	Restriction
Change the timeout period for a task	Limited to masters, job owners, and task owner

SetTimeout($timeout)

Modifies the timeout period for a task. Only valid if task already contains a timeout successor. Returns zero on error; non-zero on success.[/indent]The first entry is significant in that since dummytasks do not have owners themselves - you could only change the timeout associated with a dummytask if you are a Master or the owner of the job.

I agree to that but as per the version/manuals (TS 6.1) i am refering to:

Dynamic Attributes—The ability to change properties of instantiated jobs and tasks,
including the ability to:
- Change the owner of a job or a task
- Add and remove users and groups from a grouptask
- Modify the timeout period for an inactive task
- Modify the areavpath of a task
- Modify various task attributes (for example, lock or read-only)

This can be done using Java and the CS SDK without the restriction of being a master or the owner of a job. The only thing catch is that the dummytask can't be active. Otherwise it is very simple to do.

yes, I can do that on an inactive task w/o any problems.

But I can see a lot of cases were users would like to override the current timeout value.

I guess I will have to convert this dummytask to a usertask with a timeout.
