Applying css styles in Visual Format Editor

I modified my visualformatconfig.xml file to include my customized style sheet, and the styles display correctly in the dropdown of the VFE. When I apply a style from the dropdown to some text, the VFE creates a tag with the correct class inserted.

However, the text in the VFE field itself does not display with the style applied. I would expect it to apply the style from the style sheet in the same way it would if I clicked the Bold button, and I would see my changes right away. But this is not the case. Is it supposed to apply the style from the style sheet when it is selected?

double check your VFE stlesheet, you will find the duplicate value of a particular style. I face the same issue in past. if not share your VFE code here.

I checked the style sheet and I do not have duplicates. Only 3 values display in the dropdown for VFE: Head, Subhead, and Normal. No styles are applied to the text within the VFE field. Attached are the style sheet and config file.
