Hi All,

I have a job in hand where i have to generate 4 html files(from 4 tpls) from a DCR with the help of workflow, which fires when user clicks on Finish button.

As a first step i managed to build a script(ipl) which i wud call from a external task which will generate the pages for me.

I have hardcoded the values for the time being.

Can anyone guide me through the script as i get error while running the same through command line.

Am attaching the script.

It would help if you explained what error you got when running from the command line - and what you've tried in the way of debugging it so far.

There seems to be an issue with your ipl file while creating the wf object and it is not able to get the values of task id and job id...May be more helpful if you post your wft and ipl file

this is what you would get if you run the worflow external task from command line. You should either enter all the parameters that need to be passed to the task (RTFM) or run it from within a workflow.

I just want to finish generating the page through cmdline so that when i call the same using workflow it would give the same output.

After this step i must declare variables to get my dcr name and generate it.

Pls guide me through this which will take me closer to my task which i have written in my first post.

do you print any error logs?

just print out the generation command and try to run it by itself from the command line.

also, be logged in as a user that runs the external task. This (checking the correct user) would be my first thing to do anyway.

Hi Greg,

I am logged in as the same user who runs the workflow.

I dont print any log but use simple print statement as i'm jus running it in my cmdline.

The IWGEN runs fine thru cmdlinewith all values from the root / on UNIX..

Which is

This above cmd works perfectly fine.

How to proceed....as the above one's function must be performed by my ipl
Then i must capture the DCR's name on which user clicks finish, then generate html from that

if this works fine, it *should* work fine from the external task running from within a workflow. Once you debug this and wrok this out, then you can concentrate on other features.

as for theother questions you are asking, it looks like you need to read the manuals/attend courses, as what you are asking about is just the basics of teamSite development. I believe in the workflow manual, that ghoti has written in most parts, covers most of that.
