DXL errors/Not working properly
System
I am using WorksiteMP 4.1 HFB7 and also use the HF7 integration modules for Lotus Notes and MS Office.
Since our implementation (18 months or so ago) we have encountered error in viewing messages (emails) that have been saved into WorksiteMP. They just do not open .
The cause of the exact reason why is unknown so far but it has something to do with the DXL conversion process.
I'm looking to see if anyone else has encountered similar issues and possibly some findings to help battle this issue.
people have been losing information because they have been saving the emails into WorksiteMP and then deleting them from their inbox to avoid the duplications.
Thanks for any feedback.

Did you talk with support, what they said?

I've spoken to support since day one of the issue.
They know there is an issue with the DXL conversion that might entail margin settings, html, embedded object but they can't tell me exactly what causes the issue.
For now, i have to tell the users to take an extra step an verify the email opens correctly after they save it to WorksiteMP and before removing it from their inboxes. They are not happy about that.

This is good idea to catch it before it happens. Let us update here if you listen something useful.
Thanks Nicholas

What are your settings for Lotus Notes in App Setup in Database Administration?
Are you using Non-Integrated? What do you have for "Open" and "Open Read Only"?

The attributes you mention do not have anything to do with the DXL launching and opening up the mail form. (its not a check out process, just a view). Even a download and launching the dxl issues same results.
In regards to your questioning however, i have tried toggling the various parameters, and have the same results.

Okay, we may have the same problem - We are starting to use Worksite 8.2 and our emails are not opening up in Lotus Notes 6 as expected. Outlook works ok, and so do the other Office apps. We were thinking it might be the settings in our App Setup in Database Administration, but I also can't open the files directly with DXLImport.
Will let you know if we figure something out.
Thanks!

We are using DeskSite 8.2 P4 and Lotus Notes 6.5.5/7.0.2, and we also have had issues with Notes not being able to open documents from WorkSite. In our case, often an uninstall/reinstall of the Lotus Notes E-mail Management software resolves.
You should also check the following setting in Notes, as it has an impact on the DXLImport process:
File | Security | User Security...
Ensure "Don't prompt for a password from other Notes-based programs" is CHECKED.
*Note that the above setting can only be made as the logged-in user.

I have all the proper settings as you mentioned ("dont prompt for password..")
the issue is related to the DXL conversion and how it handles margins and other attributes.
sometimes it converts the margins to be very large and then when you try to read the dxl (viewing the email from worksitemp), it does nothing.
also, i have found that if the attached file in an email has an apostrophe in the file name, that is an error point as well.
i turned DXL logging on (technote on how to add registry key) to give me some debugging help on the physical dxl file errors.
